The peace in Northern Ireland is still fragile and vulnerable. At the opening of the Peace Counts exhibit in the Gasteig in Munich, ex-IRA fighter Joe Doherty told of frustration among Catholics and a revival of violent aggression among young Protestants. Doherty, who served 23 years for murder, reported on the preparations for a Northern Irish truth and reconciliation commission. "We need to finally work through the atrocities that took place during the civil war and find mutual forgiveness," Doherty said. "Otherwise, there will never be real peace."
