Michael Gleich named Ashoka Fellow

Ashoka is an international organization that supports the work of social entrepreneurs. Their press release read in part: "Michael Gleich of Munich, founder of the Peace Counts Foundation, is recognized as a Social Entrepreneur 2008. He has been made one of 2,000 social entrepreneurs in the support network of the leading organization for social entrepreneurship, Ashoka. The national and international competition drew applications from around 300 people in Germany and 7,000 worldwide. He will be ceremonially honored as a social entrepreneur in Munich on November 19th. Michael Gleich will receive financial support, consulting, and access to enhanced networks in the industry and the research communities to enable him to continue propagating the ideas behind Peace Counts, the reinforcement of democratic structures and constructive reporting. Each year, Ashoka recognizes the most talented social entrepreneurs, people who combine entrepreneurial thinking with social and charitable objectives and develop groundbreaking solutions for societal problems. The best known member of the Ashoka network is Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus."
